This small series consists of contact sheets and negatives of University Hospital medical and research personnel primarily during the mid 1980s. The photographs document research activities, transplant patients and surgery, and Medical Center physicians. Included are images of Drs. Michael Friedlander, Bill R. Brinkley, John Benton, William J. Koopman, Thomas N. James, Robert Gallo, James A. Pittman, and Joseph F. Volker. Other individuals pictured include Coach Gene Bartow, George Allen, Erma Wesley, and Jim Hilyer. The contact sheets are all black and white and were taken for University Hospital and UAB publications or press releases. The series was maintained in the University Hospital Office of Information Coordinator and arrived to the UAB Archives in severe disarray. The order does not reflect that maintained by the office of origin.
